Morning visitor

Great Spotted Woodpeckers are regular visitors to our peanut feeders, but for the first time this year we have noticed one of them feeding from the fat balls on the bird table. It seems to be a quick visit in the morning, probably as a high energy top up. This is a male and it may be that he has a nesting female in a tree in the Ghyll, although it is a little early.

What a lovely day it has been - sunshine and a gentle breeze, almost like a summer day. Nice to be outside and to have windows and doors open.

Our three teenagers seemed to like the little chicks. Most years we have had family here for some part of Easter but this year it was difficult and they are hopefully coming next month instead. So an Easter box went down to Kent - chocolate lollipops and chicks etc.
