Size of tissue box…

…but a mighty sound.
This is one of 2 hi-fi active speakers - each not much bigger than a tissue box - that have all the electronics for amplifier, music streamer, DAC, pre-amp, power supply etc actually built in to the speaker cabinets.
Which, in case you’re interested, are finished in a rather fetching Cobalt Blue, with goldy/bronze highlights front and rear.
No need for a big stack of separate boxes, or even an LCD screen - it’s all contained in 2 small boxes, connected to the home Internet, controlled through an app on your phone, and effortlessly pumping out hi-res sound files.
I’m definitely at the wrong end of the IT-literate spectrum, but got it up and running in well under an hour, including downloading the app..
Almost all the reviews had raved about the quality of the sound.
Straight out of the box, streaming a favourite 1970s album (Boomer!), I stood in front-centre of the speakers, grinning like a Cheshire, absolutely stunned that such a big powerful sound - crystal clear, and with plenty of bass - could come out of such a tiny 2-way system. (The tweeter is the flower-shaped thingy in the centre of the mid-bass driver.)
Switching it over to TV, and they do a equally good job of the soundtrack - better, if anything - and so much better again than the built-in TV speakers, or even a soundbar. More grinning.
So yes, a definite red-letter day here.
