Wound up in Wexford

Dying rose

Having charged up by the hotel in Harwich, our plan to head for Braintree for the large EV charging forecourt was rendered superfluous.

Instead we headed to Slough, where we found a large Tesco's.   Crumpets, Hot Cross buns, and some essential fruit and veg.  Also some massively reduced Easter eggs for our vitamin C(hocolate) fix.  I also, after a fight with a shopping centre, managed to find a Barclays Bank to pay in my tax refund cheque.  And we stocked up on ibuprofen and paracetamol, which are much cheaper in the UK.

Our EV charger app revealed a suitable charger at Reading services, so that was our next destination.

Then we continued out on the M4.  We needed to stop in Cardiff to use the facilities, so decided to charge up there too.

Then dinner at a hotel we've stayed at a few times near Fishguard.  Dinner was lovely, and I hasten to reassure that the same vase contained a living rose - but the dying one was more interesting!  The staff were great and allowed us to hang around in the lounge.  We eventually departed about 11pm.

A longish wait to get on to the overnight ferry from Fishguard to Rosslare.  Stena have been struggling to maintain their service between Fishguard and Rosslare through the winter, having had a few ships needing repairs.  This ferry was almost empty.  There were no cabins available - presumably they had decided not to service them.  We (mainly W - I find it difficult to sleep in a chair) snoozed and read in the Stena Plus lounge for the 4hr crossing.  It's just 50km or so home from the ferry terminal.
