Westward Ho

We made the most of today's dry weather and less stong winds by heading up onto the moorland behind the crofts and making our way to the "summit" of Ben Gearry. This is listed on Walkhighlands as a Sub-2000 Hill so I added that to my list !  Didn't think I'd ever bag a hill on Skye !  Although not high we were rewarded with wonderful views of both sides of Waternish, the rest of Skye to the South and the Western Isles.

After lunch we walked back along to Donnie's Table Shed with a brief foray onto the moors beyond. More tablet was purchased.

I really enjoyed looking at the different crofts and what was being done on them. The working ones seem to focus on poultry and interesting sheep breeds, including the curious rams in the extra.

We headed over to the Stein Inn for dinner tonight. It is the oldest Inn on Skye and we ate well. Stein itself felt so much busier than Geary.
