Life in Sunny Dubai

Keturah Reserve

(5/4/24)

A very Happy Easter to my blip buddies!

I didn't get to bed as early as I should have, so it was a real struggle waking at 4:30 to be at the 5:30 Easter Sunrise service, which G loves to go to.

It would have all worked well if the congregation of the "other" church nearby hadn't taken up all the parking spaces! Thankfully, the weather is still very pleasant, so the ten-minute walk wasn't too strenuous.

We headed to Al Seef for coffee and breakfast after we got the car washed and then back home, where I had to catch up on my sleep! G stayed up sending loads of Easter messages.

Our friends Susan and Gladson called in to say "Hi". We haven't seen them since the beginning of March. They brought their kids too (see extra). G & I decided to go for a drive after they left. I had wanted to see the newly-opened Hanging Gardens, but it would be a 5-hour round trip, so we opted for the Keturah Resort that S&G told us about.

We got to find S&G and family there! They had just finished their tour and were heading home. Once again, the weather turned, and we had a few drops of rain. We got back in the car and had lunch in Wafi. It feels like such an unusual Easter. G would normally make a roast meal, but that's not happening this year.

We did a small shop in Carrefour and were home for the rest of the day. I started to look at/edit the pictures taken over the last few days.

The Keturah Reserve is a new development still in the construction stage. The developer must have grand ideas, as there was a fleet of branded Rolls Royce cars parked in a line. I wonder if they are giving them to the buyers of the properties. It also has many unique plants including old olive trees.
