Costa Rica Day 2 - Tortugero

Howdy blipmates.  You lot are very clever.  Yes I am in Costa Rica.  Today we travelled to Torgugero National Park and stayed in a lodge just outside the park.  A short walk from our cabin took you to the first extra which is the Caribbean Sea to see the sunrise (taken on 5 April).  You could hear the waves breaking from the cabin which I always find a lovely way to go to sleep.  It was incredibly hot and humid.  The draining sort that leaves you limp and sapped.  No airconditioning in the cabins, just fans.  There was a pool but as soon as you got out you just got hot again.

To get to the lodge you had to travel on these long boats for 1.5 hours up the river.  Our lodge was on an isthmus with the river on one side and the sea on the other.  Along the river was initially some farms and houses and then it just became the jungle with massive trees and palms and all sorts of other jungly type vegetation.  There were things to see on the way, birds  (a kingfisher and lots of egrets and herons) and a crocodile.

No internet in the cabins but some at reception but with our schedule I didn't get a chance to blip while I was there.
