A Little Night Music

Back to Lancaster Grand tonight. I reckoned another picture of an empty stage would be a bit boring (curse the “no photos” policy) but it did look pretty good, so I’ve put it in as a little inset.
We were there to see the Opera Boys performing “A Night at the Musicals”. Very similar to groups like Il Divo or G4, but much more down to earth. And local - the chap on the left of the photo is from Lancaster and had quite a few of his family in the front row of the circle.
It was an excellent evening - superb voices and some great songs from well known West End and Broadway musicals. There was also a bit of actual opera chucked in as well! All of this was delivered with a light and humorous touch which made it all the more enjoyable. For a few numbers at the end of each act they were joined by a youth choir from the Kendal and Lancaster Stagecoach Schools.
All four members of the group had appeared in a variety of musicals, including Les Mis in the West End (the chap on the right of the photo, as he kept reminding us!) After a very entertaining couple of hours, we were told the guys would be in the foyer after the show for photos, a chat and - perhaps most importantly! - the chance to purchase CDs.
I must say that they all seem particularly interested in Mrs C proffering her card to buy one of said CDs, but once the purchase was completed, they were only too happy to sign it for her!
They promised they’d be back in Lancaster next year and we will definitely be there to see them. Well worth seeing if you get the chance.
