Another Day

Newly washed

JJ has gone to the records office at Kew with the group he tutors so I've got the day to myself.

I went out before breakfast because it was relatively still outside and I wanted to get as much of the new leaf growth as I could, especially as it's all nice and shiny.

Last night's camera club was great fun.  One of the members gave an entertaining chat on taking images of volunteers at his local village hall.  How one image was not well received and how he managed to improve it in Photoshop by widening the eyes, removing the acne and whitening the teeth.  All very clever and amusing.

The second member showed us how he had improved a picture that recently won a competition.  Jane Dotchin is almost 84 and walks all over the country with her horse and disabled dog.  She has been honoured by the British Horse Society.  She's also virtually blind.  Do look her up please.

The third member has a passion for film and everything associated with it.  He came across someone on eBay who had bought over a hundred glass slides and messaged him to ask what was on them.  The man replied and sent him a few examples, which he sent on to another of our club members who he thought would be interested.  This club member replied saying "my mother is on that slide and she'd be about eight in that picture".   (She was born in 1907).  Unbelievable.  Anyway he now has an authentic copy of that image and a beautiful wooden frame surrounding it.  You couldn't make it up.  It made me very teary.
