Cowslip ( Primula veris )

Saturday, so prepping the Lodge again.  The guests had done the "walk to the bins", so no inspiration there.  Looking out of the window I noticed the first of the flowers in the wildflower "meadow" we are developing.

As you can see the first flower was a Cowslip, well two actually but this was one was easiest to photograph.  While relatively common in most of the UK Cowslips are absent from NW Scotland.  Strangely it does occur in northernmost Sutherland and Orkney.  The name is thought to have come from the fact it used to be common in cow pastures.
