Tulip casualties

When we came downstairs this morning, there were a couple of the "lasagne" tulips lying broken off on the patio - casualties of the wind? or a bird?  Anyway, I rescued them put them in water in a small vase on the windowsill,  and a few hours later they were well open.

I don't suppose they will last long, but perhaps they'll provide another blip as they wilt.

W managed to get outside for a while today - dodging showers and coping with the cool wind to do some mowing of areas that Husky can't deal with, and then some digging.  I continued to hide inside.
