Wound up in Wexford

Men at work

In preparation for closing it off and fitting an electric fire, we had the chimney swept today.  The "lad" wasn't small enough to climb up it, so they had to use the modern equipment.

They were quick, efficient, and clean.  They carried outside for us the grate that was in the fireplace, wrapping it in a sheet before carrying it through the hall.  They reassured us that the existing cap on the chimney is adequate - the bat was a "freak" occurrence, and birds wouldn't be able to get in.  So now we can put a "bung" in the bottom end of the flue, before deciding on how to close off the fireplace fully.

After they'd gone I turned up the chimes on our new clock to a volume level that works for us.  W did some work in the garden, I uploaded yet more music onto the Brennan.  I neglected to mention a couple of days ago that I did make a contribution to garden maintenance by weeding all the dandelions and sycamore seedlings out of the pond bed.  Weeding is my job!

Later in the day I popped over to Adamstown to collect medications from the pharmacy, and also got some €1 coins to replenish the small stock we keep in the car for parking machines.
