Birthday puff

We've had a wonderful day for Mum's 84th birthday.

The Mother Ship was slightly indignant this morning that she hadn't had a call from her sister Katie. Little did she know the surprise that was on it's way :-) Katie, Travis and my cousin Helen flew from Wellington to Auckland for the day. Not just the flying but the substantial car drive at either end. Never suspecting a thing Mum was utterly surprised and delighted when they arrived to complete a full compliment of siblings at her birthday.

Mum was expecting to go out to lunch with her brother and sister in law, Dad, my brother and me. She never suspected there would 9 of us in total. We laughed, cried, talked, ate and drank. Several rounds of each I think.

A day to treasure, one out of the box.
