Life is a Challenge!

SWIZZLED - BUT ALL'S WELL THAT ENDS WELL!

Hello Lovely Blippers,

Well, we felt a bit upset with Mr. & Mrs. HCB, who got us all up early so that we could go to their favourite charity shop, DEBRA, because they said there was a Cake Sale - well not so much sale, but you put a donation into a box when you take some of the lovely cakes.  The display looked amazing and we were very excited BUT...

...when we got there, it wasn’t the cupboards that were bare, but the cake stands - and you can see lots of empty ones in the photograph.  We sat and sat and sat until our bottoms were sore from sitting on wicker baskets but still no cakes and THEN...

...out came Sarah and her band of helpers - and filled up all the cake stands - BUT...

...by this time, Mr. HCB had put us all back into the bag and was taking us back to the car ready to go home.  How disappointing that was - BUT...

...we have to say that all's well that ends well - because when Mr. HCB brought us home, he also had lots of Lardy cake, which is a famous Wiltshire cake, some bread pudding, specially made by the husband of the helper in the bright green jacket and also some apple strudel.  We were very happy and sat with him and together, we ate all the cake he had brought home - we realise that was a bit naughty, but he said it was a reward because we were so good and didn’t grumble in the shop.  Sometimes things turn out much better than you think!

There is an extra collage showing all the lovely helpers and some of the cakes and we hope that they made lots of money for the charity.

Meanwhile, after Mr. HCB had taken us home, we understand that Mrs. HCB walked down into the Town Centre but then she walked all round the shops, through Queen’s Park and and back up into Old Town so that she could go into the DEBRA shop to see how they were doing.  That was very kind of her and you know how much we like everyone to be kind!

So despite being swizzled out of our cakes early this morning, we were happy to know that almost ALL the cakes had been sold, which is amazing.  Another amazing thing is that after walking for about 3 hours, Mrs. HCB clocked up 9,466 steps - the most she has ever done for a long, long time.  She should sleep well tonight!

Hope you all have a great week and remember BE KIND - because you never know what someone else is going through - and if you have two pieces of cake, give one away - you will feel happy and so will the person who receives it!

It has been a beautiful day with lots of sunshine - so hope it's been shining on you, wherever you are.

With love to you all,

The Silly Saturday Gang xxx

P.S.  Mrs. HCB wanted us to put in another collage, as well as the DEBRA ladies - showing Queen’s Park and all the lovely things she saw - including a naughty little duck who couldn't read the sign!    She told us that whilst sitting in Queen’s Park with her Merlin app working, she heard 17 different species of birds including a Little Owl - Mr HCB was jealous!
She also said has given out about 30 of her special little hearts today - and everyone, without fail, said they loved them.  Being kind has its own reward!

We think Mrs. HCB has just nodded off in the chair, so we will be very quiet!
