Garden catch-up

Val needed a hand with collecting some plants and some bark chippings from the garden centre, so we did that together in the morning. Neither or us being as strong as we used to be, we had to be imaginative about getting the extremely heavy bag of bark chippings out of the car boot and into the garden. Fortunately Val had one of those tall baggage-carrying devices with two wheels that station porters used to use many decades ago (she has no idea how it got there; perhaps it was left behind by the house's previous owner). We put it next to the boot, tipped the bag up between us and hoped for the best. Fortunately it slid down straight into the right position. Then wheeling it into the garden was easy.
Later I met Samina for a cup of tea and a catch-up. She's due to start a new job next month: moving away from processing Direct Payments social care invoices and into a social care practitioner role. This will mean escaping the screen, and getting out to meet clients. It'll suit her much better.
Apart from that... I spent a blissful hour or so in the garden.  The morello cherry tree is smothered in blossom, and bees are all over it, buzzing away. It really felt like a proper spring day.
