Virginia flowers

Holly left early this morning for her drive home. Dee and I left shortly after but decided to drive on the backroads which took a little longer but no big trucks or stop and start traffic. Beautiful rolling country.

We stopped for a break in Virginia at a rest stop and these flowers were planted there. Virginia bluebells, columbines, daffodils, a tulip and yellow primroses. I think.

We found a state park that was a different part of New River so we stopped for a view. Nice place and is an equestrian park also.

When we passed through Mt Airy, NC we found Barney’s Cafe. For those who know about the Andy Griffin Show from the way back, Barney was his deputy sheriff. The town is all about the imaginary town of Mayberry. Interesting Main Street there that needs more exploring.


Good to be home with so many great memories.
