Vulture in Flight, El Salvador

We left beautiful Suchitoto in El Salvador and travelled on to Honduras. This involved two border crossings (again)!

Unlike our last double border crossing this one went like a dream - no delays, queues or unexpected paper work. And the roads were quiet with no lorries so the journey was quicker than expected. The route isn’t dual carriaged so it only takes a couple of large lorries on the road to cause lengthy delays.

Copan Ruinas town in Honduras is only 6.5 miles from the Guatemalan border. The founding of the town in 1893 is linked to the Mayan Copan archaeological site. It’s a very small place of less than 10,000 people with colonial architecture and cobblestone streets.

The Copan archaeological site is about one mile outside the town and the reason we’re here.

It’s still very hot here in Central America both day and night!
