Luskentyre on Harris

Harris is well known for having some beautiful beaches and Luskentyre is probably the best known - it attracts photographers as the blip shows but as we explored more of South Harris we kept finding other gems like the beach at Seilebost in the first extra.

We drove right round South Harris and in the afternoon headed North to Lewis and the town of Stornoway, another ferry port to the mainland.
After wandering around and enjoying a coffee we headed back through North Harris where I took the 2nd extra looking down to the settlement of Maraig, once apparently a thriving place but now just a few households remain.

The last extra was taken around 9.15 pm as we explored Tarbert after dinner . The ferry was moored for the night and I watched as the moon rose above it starting to light up the harbour.

Altogether a delightful day spent taking far too many photographs - a Harris photo book will need to be made !
