NEW SHOP

This afternoon I caught a bus to Swalwell and went shopping in Lidl.  Then I got another bus to the Metrocentre.  A quick shopping trip to Savers and Poundland and then another bus home.

The Wide Wednesday theme is " Anything interesting from your day "  The most interesting thing I saw at the Metrocentre was this new branch of Go Outdoors which will open its doors to the public in the next week or so.   Its a large shop and used to be Wilko.  Inside was a hive of activity today with various members of staff filling shelves and rails. Newcastle had a match this evening - an away game against Crystal Palace.  I listened on the radio.  Newcastle put in a disappointing performance  - and they lost the game 2 nil.

Our local team Whickham were also in action this evening in the final of the Durham County FA Challenge Cup against West Auckland Town. The match was played at The Stadium Of Light ( home of Sunderland FC ).  Unfortunately Whickham lost by 3 goals to nil. But well done to them for getting to the final.
