The hotel at Flagstaff backed onto woods with several trails so we went tor a walk before we left at the usual early hour for our trip to the Grand Canyon.  The grass was sparkling with thick frost as we walked through the woods and to the north Humphries Peak looked glorious with its snow covered slopes.  Later we had to discard our jackets in the warm sunshine, as we walked along the Time Trail to the Geology Museum on the southern rim of the impressive Grand Canyon with only an occasional glimpse of the Colorado River far in the distance.
