Lesser Knapweed

This beauty is Lesser knapweed (Centaurea nigra)
AKA Common knapweed, and Black Knapweed with a local vernacular name of Hardheads.
It is a common meadow plant arond where I live and I have to admit when I see it I feel just a tad sad, as I know summer is moving on, and I can begin to see autumn just around the corner :-(.
I have blipped this particular plant because they are normally darkish purple and this light coloured one is quite unusual.
I hope you will enjoy seeing it as much as I did.
