Aberdeenshire

A travel day: train to Aberdeen. Walked with my wheeled bag to the Art Gallery via the newish Union Terrace Gardens : huge amounts of new planting on steep banks. A long path with a gentle slope up to street level.

The main exhibit in the gallery is Louise Bourgeois . Spider iv in extra. Well worth a look if you are passing. Coffee in the top floor cafe, which is much quieter than the ground floor space and has much better lighting.

Bus from Broad Street to the airport to pick up a hire car to drive to the Aberdeenshire house. Walked round the circuit in the evening; it was hazy; there was a light mist or haar all up the east coast all day.

The back road was quiet; talked to one neighbour and closed a gate for her. Gorse and broom out. Several fields sown and rolled and no crop yet visible, which is really late for spring planting ..
