The Lozarithm Lens

Bowood 2013 #18

I called in at Bowood briefly shortly before last entry as it spotted with rain. Still no news on Gina's pregnancy at Tractor Ted's so I took a brief walk around the grounds looking at the trees and shrubs and wild flowers. Through the trees you can just make out the kiosk at the entrance to the grounds.

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Scott Walker - Jackie (Live) (1968)
A copy I'd ordered of Scott: The Collection 1967-1970 arrived on this day. It consisted of the five albums he recorded in that period, the first of these being only six months after he had left the Walker Brothers (none of them were christened Walker, and they were not brothers). All are remastered and beautifully packaged in cardboard replica gate-fold sleeves with full details in the booklet. Scott Walker had first dibs on the English translations of Jacques Brel songs, of whom he was a great fan, and each album had three interpretations of his songs. Jackie was the biggest commercial success at the time and it cut right across the hippy-dippy flower power Zeitgeist. This TV clip shows the confident grandeur and flourish of his performances of the song.
