Lock 27, Forth and Clyde Canal

This is not the first time I have uploaded a picture of this canal location- see 3rd Feb for similar viewpoint. However, on previous occasions there was no sign of human life - only the swans. At lunchtime today the place was buzzing and Lock 27 - the bar and restaurant - was doing a roaring trade with people enjoying another glorious day of temperatures in the 80s.

The canal spur is maintained by Scottish Canals which also runs the Caledonian, Crinan, Forth and Clyde, Monkland and Union Canals - a total of 137 miles of waterway network. Plenty of locks to blip in Scotland!
