The Life Of Ponty Cyclops

It's amazing what you can find down Newport Wetlands sometimes!

It was the Open Day down there today, so we decided to call down there for a couple of hours and show our faces. It was a cracking day out last year, and was indeed again this year.

We met my brother and the family down there, and had a picnic. I chatted to loads of RSPB bods whom I know fairly well now. We had a wander around the stands, and bumped into my mate Nigel.

This iguana was nothing to do with the open day. A couple had randomly turned up with him and a parrot ... as you do!

It was boiling again, this heatwave continues unabated, and in fact the thermometer read a mercury bubbling 33 degrees when we left at 5pm.

We had a four hour drive ahead of us. We are now in Lincolnshire. It's cooler here!
