I went out hunting butterflies but came back with

... this!

I did manage a few almost passable butterfly photos but they were not quite blip standard. I watched Ringlets and Meadow Browns each occupying their own spot along the field boundary - the Meadow Browns are incredible, when at rest they look just like stalks of dried grass - such wonderful camouflage! I also photographed a Meadow Pipit which was doing its best to distract me - the photo was good enough for me to confirm its identity but again not blip standard.

For those unfamiliar with UK plants, these are Rosebay Willowherb (Fireweed in the US).

Haircut this afternoon and then to see Mum who needed some help to sort out watering the garden.
