Bay of Eggs

{backblip}

Last day in the resort today.

All this getting up early to beat the queues for breakfast is causing Euan no end of grief. All these big cooked breakfast is causing my wardrobe grief. Good intentions of having a plate of muesli or something more continental went to pot as soon as the smell of bacon wafted over the school dinner tables. I'm weak.

A bit of gift shopping then off to pitch up on the beach for some more eggy smelling snorkeling and sitting under a shady umbrella watching some guy with two power washers strapped to his feet levitate above the waves being towed along by a jet ski. I think it's called 'flyboarding' and it all looked a bit tricky to control but mighty impressive when he tipped up and dived under the water to reappear like a dolphin leaping a second later.

When the sand began to get everywhere and we ran out of water we walked back to the hotel for some cold beers and lazed around under some shady palms away from the battery hen packed bathers. Managed to find a spot where the wifi signal was still wafting in so spent some time writing up some journal entries on the iPad whilst Samantha and Euan splashed around the pools.

Final supper was an 'American theme' which required the staff to dress up as what looked like characters from Disney's Pocahontas (is it still OK to do that?) whilst serving up chilli nachos, burgers and fries. After negotiating the pile of vomit being cleared up at the entrance to the restaurant and the plates of food being dropped and splattered inside we kept our heads down, tried to enjoy our last meal and headed off to the the child-free cocktail bar for some peace and quiet and some last Mojitos and Strawberry Daiquiris. Although we could have any amount of free drink at any of the queued out bars around we were happy to pay the extra for these by this point and with a ?2.50 quadruple whisky for a nightcap we scampered off to finish packing and to get an early night for our early rise. 3am and there was a bit of a commotion with a screaming kid being screamed at by an even louder and completely out of order adult which was followed by the security guard noisily patrolling to find out what was going on.

Think we're nearly ready for home now.
