Mr and Mrs Chestnut Teal

A shocking day photographically speaking. Rain this morning and cloudy skies meant a lovely long lie in. A spot of gardening and towards sunset I went blip hunting. Off to the lake as it had cleared in the afternoon. There were kite surfers having a lot of fun but I didn't like any of the shots. The very fierce Westerly wind ruined any sunset shots but I did take a few (with not fast enough shutter speed, completely misjudged the late evening light) of these Chestnut Teals who were having their supper. Mrs barely had her head above water. She must be stocking up for Spring. Mr has the most amazing plumage. I think it is like burr walnut. Anyhoo, this was the best of a large and very bad lot.
