Forthside Bridge

We were going to jump on the train to Stirling today, but as it took so long to get everyone organised this morning after multiple Sunday lie-ins, we took the car instead.

This turned out better from a blip perspective as we had the opportunity to take a walk over the recently opened "Forthside Bridge" which links the developments in Forthside with the City Centre.

Some argue that it's a bit of overkill for a bridge that was simply required to transport pedestrians over the railway lines and it opened a year behind schedule, but up close it's a pretty stunning piece of asymmetrical architecture. I spent a good while walking under, over and around it and it is indeed most aesthetically pleasing at all angles.

Took a long walk with the family up and around the Castle, finding hidden streets and walks that you can only discover on foot. On the way home we stopped for some chips at Corrieri's which we ate in Causewayhead park nearby. They taste better that way.

Ice Age 3: Not as good as first two, bit heavy on the family-values front. We saw it in 2D, might have had more an edge if we'd seen the 3D version.
