Butterfly day

Cycled down to the gym for a hard and hot Body pump session. Bumped into an old friend who joined a few months ago and caught up on what our kids were up to.

Dived through the shower and then had some lunch with great seeded bread made by husband in the bread maker overnight.

The buddleia outside the front window was covered in butterflies for most of the day. I spotted gatekeepers, large whites, small whites, brimstones and lots and lots of peacocks. I did the big butterfly count from the front window.

After an abortive attempt to log on to my work computer and catch up on some admin, I joined husband in the garden with my book. The bees, red kites, butterflies and dragonflies going in and out of the garden were lovely to watch. A marbled white stopped long enough to photo but the background was horrible.

Made a roasted vegetable tart for tea once it had cooled down a bit and then settled down to watch 'The Returned'. Back to the horrors of public transport in a heatwave tomorrow.
