The accidental finding

Hamish and the giant sundae

This is my nephew Hamish (11) tackling a large chocolate and banana sundae at the Olive Tree in Oban, where we all ate tonight. We had planned to visit a garden and go out for lunch today, but the rain put a damper on plans, so as we still had the skip, I decided to sort out the books in the attic. There was a horrible dark corner I called "Bookworld" that Tanya and I tackled together. Books are my area of specialist knowledge, but many of these were nibbled by mice or covered in cobwebs... yuk! Luckily I had found an old boiler suit that actually fitted, but the sorting took far longer than expected.

Afterwards, CleanSteve took me to Oban where we dropped off the books at a charity shop. On the way, CleanSteve blipped the Falls of Lora and Connel Bridge, so I can't blip them as well! When we got back, my aunt had dropped in, and the skip was being uplifted. I realised that there was another bedroom full of books left behind by myself, my five siblings and their offspring, so I had a little burst of OCD and cleared that out, producing three and a half more boxes to take to town tomorrow! At least whoever stays in that room after TML leaves tomorrow won't find books in every single drawer and section of the wardrobe, as well as the actual bookshelves!

Later, my mother took us all out to supper: Steve and I, my sister TML and her daughter Immy, my niece Maria, and niece and nephew Flora and Hamish. The latter is the youngest, and was insistent on ordering a huge sundae, which he did manage to eat. We tried tablet ice cream just to see what it was like, (vanilla ice cream with chips of tablet in it) but the star of the evening was CleanSteve's seafood chowder, studded with prawns, salmon, haddock, mussels and several other types of fish besides. I had the gluten free pasta with prawns and clams.

The internet, which is beamed across the loch by satellite, is very slow, and means that uploading usually takes three attempts. So forgive me for being a stranger here. I hope to blip something scenic tomorrow.
