Camino Diaries Day 3- Widening Paths

Another bright and early start this morning as we left Portomarín and made our way to Palas de Rei. The route was very different today compared to yesterday, lots more road walking wide paths, rather than little villages. The weather was also the opposite, at 10.30 this morning the sun was beaming and it was very hot, whereas by afternoon it had cooled down slightly and there were more shaded sections. We also managed to accumulate quite a few stamps today for our credentials; we need at least 2 per day to be eligible for our Compostela. One of our stamps today came from the Chapel of Madalena. The chapel was historically a hospital for pilgrims, dedicated to Mary Magdalene. The man issuing out the stamps was blind, but still managed to speak to people in their preferred language while he stamped and gave out information on the chapel. We’ve now arrived at the most beautiful guest house based in a small farm in Palas de Rei. All tucked in now after a delicious meal. Tomorrow is long one!
