Goosle Goslings: Flappy Dance!

Yay - more exuberant in large ("L").

It was very gusty this afternoon; that was a good start because a gosling with the wind in its feathers is much more likely to flap...
The goslings did well today: they each had a turn at flappy dancing, and were both very enthusiastic and gave it 100%! They were still slightly uncooperative as they both chose to dance in the shade of the tree when the sun was behind the clouds, rather than out in the open when the sun was shining...
Slightly naughty goslings...
Anyway, it was still absolutely wonderful to see them bouncing around and flapping: they looked and sounded so excited and surprised. When the smaller goslings was dancing, the wind caught in its wings and threw it up and off balance which made it tilt and bounce right into the long grasses which was hilarious. It bounced back up peeping loudly: "I totally meant to do that..."!

I had a wonderful photo session this afternoon: I spent a while with the Goosles, then visited the mallardlings on Long Pond (boo, only 9 now), and even got my best pictures (to date...) of the pied wagtail which hangs around over there which was good because it never lets me get anywhere near it...

I've also uploaded a picture of one of the goslings just stretching its wings out in the sun: it was looking straight at me and looks so smiley and pleased with itself which was just too cute to leave un-uploaded... Smiley gosling.
