Touching

Even at around 5 pm, the light was still pretty harsh when I saw this young foal in a field. I'd guess it was only days old. The older horse came up to it and they touched noses. I wondered what the communication meant. It was probably saying: "It's OK son, you're safe with us."

I'd just been at the hospital, waiting over an hour for a two-minute consultation harking back to my dizzy spells and tinnitus. The doc couldn't find anything wrong with me apart from a higher reading on bad cholesterol than I should have. "Should I change my diet?" I asked. "No," he said. All the same I might cut down on the cheese, milk, butter and red meat which just about is my diet.
