August Challenge - Jagged

Day 3 of DDW's August daily challenge - Jagged

I spent part of today in the garden. My intention was to cut back a bush that was in serious need of cutting back, but as I did it, it soon became clear that it wasn't very healthy. A lot of the branches were dead, with the live ones having grown far too high in order to find light. As I removed the dead wood I soon found it was easy to snap off pieces at the base, since it was rotten and there were signs of disease down there. So, the whole thing was cut back - removing the last bits of root could be tricky as they are under the neighbours patio, at least it isn't going to fall down on top of them now.

I seemed to hear cries of protest as I worked............
