wander, stumble, wonder

Look tough

Day two of Imo and Ed in town, and it was a Norwich day. After a lazy morning we wandered into town for some lunch at my favourite cafe. It was a winner with my visitors, and we quickly decided to come back for some afternoon tea, after a little look around the city. The first stop was the Castle, not to go in but to look out from. It's about the only spot in Norwich it's possible to get any view of the city from, but even there it's pretty limited. We'd been seeing the gorillas all over the place, but were particularly taken with Optimus Primate here.

Next stop was the Cathedral, via Elm Hill and a few lanes. I do love the Cathedral still, after so many visits. For me the architecture of a church is important - the sense of space and magnificence captured so well by early builders. There's something about the peace and dignity of a building that has stood for hundreds of years for one purpose, the thousands of people who have come through with their rejoicing, mourning, worrying, thanking and the one God who has seen and loved us all.

By the time we'd looked around there it was cake time, so we went back up to Cafe 33 for final sustenance before it was time for Imo and Ed to head back to Oxford.

Thanks for coming to visit me! It was really fun! I promise to come to Oxford again sometime in the next couple of years...
