Not Mine

This mine is to be found in the children's playground in Fittie next to the entrance to the harbour. Not sure why a weapon of war would be found in the playground, though I suspect most people, especially the children are barely ware of its presence, and in the case of the children possibly not really aware what it represents.

Mines are to be found in many beachfront locations around the coast of Britain. Some have collection boxes for good causes, some may be war memorials, however this one appears to have no purpose whatsoever. Maybe the Council has forgotten it is there and why. I suppose the good thing is it did not explode.
