Bee on the fuchsia

I went looking for buzzing bugs in the garden. Spotted bees and flies and then a profusion of caterpillars on my various types of cabbages. Boo-hoo. There has been a profusion of cabbage whites, sadly, but from now there are quite a few less caterpillars.

A large peacock butterfly rested on the cabin window sill when it clouded over, prior to a massive downpour. I then managed to get this bee on a fuchsia before the rain fell. A kestrel hovered overhead, which is quite unusual to see here.

It has been a quiet and lazy day, and it looks like continuing, so as the rain has set in, I may retire to finish my Graham Greene novel, or just fall asleep.
