Family Day Out

We have had such an amazing day.
Unfortunately it was preceded by a less than amazing night.
For some reason last night Miss L thought it would be a good idea to take the lid off her bottle of water and then store it at the bottom of her sleeping bag. Annoying child!
We had nothing else for her to sleep in or under so she had to come in with us.
Sharing a double sleeping bag with a husband and a wriggly three year old is not a recipe for a good night's sleep!
Add a helping of deafening torrential rain hammering inches from our head throughout the night and it's a recipe for a terrible night's sleep.
But the view from the tent when we got up made it all worth it. And after Coco pops and a cup of tea all was well!
The rest of the day was fabulous. A proper family holiday day!
We went to my brother Mr D's house and the Little Misses wasted no time jumping in his river to start a dam.
Then we went to a beautiful lake up in the mountains and had a scrummy lunch and spent ages throwing and skimming stones. Mr K and my dad aren't competitive at all..... Ha ha!
Miss E thought it was the funniest thing in world to go paddling in the lake with her shoes on!
Then it was on to Llandudno for some paddling and splashing in the sea, and some crab fishing from the jetty.
There are photos of me at about the same age sitting on the same jetty. It's so special to be there with my own little girls.
We foolishly assumed that they would fall asleep before we got back to the tent. Half an hour away!
They did not!
We managed to zip them into their bedroom and sat outside eating soup and drinking hot chocolate listing to them giggling like mad things and squealing with delight for an hour or so.
What a fantastic day!!
