The Edge of the Wold

Land of grey and pink

Though more water than land after the deluge this morning. There was so much water coming down the channel, it almost looked like the tide was already in. The solitary heron was looking a little despondent out on the saturated mudflats. Gus enjoyed a walk where only his feet got wet, we've had a couple of soakings this last few days. And tonight, he bumped into his friend Arnside Simon, promenading with his visitors.

The scaffolders arrived in the middle of the deluge and working to a deadline had to keep going so that the roof will be ready for the work tomorrow. And while they were getting a drenching, ironically I was on another telecall talking about droughts, though we will surely be spared that this year now.
