M wanted to see the car rally at Fyvie today, so we packed up a picnic and headed off in the morning. It was a bit grey and rainy, but the cars were really sparkley and pristine. There were lots of different kinds - mainly Triumphs and Morris, but some jaguars and lotus as well. M's cousins were there with a new (old) morris van which was the brightest shade of yellow you can imagine on a dull day. After a wander around the walled gardens of the castle, we had our picnic, then decided we'd have a drive up to Banff to see my Aunt and Mum and Dad, who are up visiting for a few days.

Aunt J provided lots of nice coffee and some extremely cheesy biscuits (they made my tongue hurt), and we had a nice catch-up. Banff is quite a drive from Aberdeen, on quite an unpleasant road, so we don't meet up that often. On our way back, M's friend R called and asked if we wanted a pint at the Ferryhill, so when we got back we wandered over for a few Tennents.

We had the leftover curry for tea (even better the 2nd day!) and cosied up to watch The Returned. It's getting spookier; the percentage of time I have to watch from behind a pillow is slowly increasing...! Mum and Dad are up tomorrow - excited!
