Busy day

First of all, a joke from James.

Two cats were swimming across the channel. The English cat was called "One, two, three" and the French cat was called "un, deux, trois"

Which cat won the race?

"One, two, three" because the "Un, deux, trois" cat sank

(you might have to say it out loud!)

What's the difference between Bird Flu and Swine Flu?
For bird flu, you need "tweetment" and for swine flu you need "oinkment"

So, today has been a busy day.

Mum and I went to the gym and I did an hour - 30 minutes cardio work on bike and stair machine, then 20 minutes weights (stop the inevitable arrival of bingo wings) and then some crunches and leg raises. Felt really good afterwards -must have been the endorphins.

Needed a siesta around 4pm though!!

Woke up around f5pm and went and did 20 lengths of the pool just to cool down :-)

Desperately hot here today - when I took the photo of the thermometer reading 41 degrees, that was around 2pm. By 5pm, it had topped 44 degrees. Now, at nearly 9pm, it has cooled down to a comfortable 35 degrees. I HAVE caught the sun today.

We had an earth tremor at 9.30 this morning - not a massive one, but enough to make James stand in the doorway looking exceptionally puzzled at the rattling noise!

James has been bodyboarding - his classic line was "I'm getting better, I've stopped falling off now" His swimming has come on leaps and bounds - so confident in the water and looks much less like a drowning puppy now.

James has also taught Elliot (who is 5 years James' senior) how to play chess today. James royally kicked my butt at chess yesterday - he was really thinking about it - I underestimated my opponent!

Mum has had representations from community residents today about the increasing problem of cats pooing on the grass or around the community. Little did "El presidente" realise when she took up post two years ago, that her job would involve picking up poo and hosing down pathways!!! It shouldn't do, but she sorts it all to maintain a quiet life. One or two residents are now complaining that there should be no pets in the community, so mum has told them that they have to speak at the AGM and put forward that proposal - will go down like a lead balloon with some. In the meantime, mum is going to train as a Cat Whisperer, find the culprit moggy and retrain it in the art of pooing in just one particular residents garden.

Teehee

Barbeque for tea - the chicken in the picture is part of mum's new tea-time game - Chilli Chicken roulette....she marinades it in soy sauce and chilli, but the chilli doesn't always evenly spread across the chicken. Some mouthfuls are pleasant, some are fiery!!!

Off to chill on the patio. Early morning tomorrow as I have a massage booked for 9.45.

Am feeling the most chilled and relaxed that I have felt since this time last year!
