The Nelsons

Have an oakey...

A name for an ice cream I remember from my childhood.

This nice model of a Miko (the French equivalent of Wall's) Citroen H type ice cream van, is a present from Emma. After taking her boy-fiend home with Mme MB, they popped into Carrefour Market where there was a Citroen magazine with model in their "maison de la presse" section.

A lovely addition to my collection.

Seems the last few days were a little bit busy with work etc. I've also sold a few more things on Vinted. Not setting the world on fire, but it brings in a bit of extra cash.

On Saturday I had a new student start, he seems OK to me and we are both the same age. Have two students on Monday.

Yesterday and today I've been sorting out travel arrangements for our UK trip. Mme MB, Rémy & Emma now need an ETA visa to visit Britain - a new rule that will start in a few weeks. So each visa is about 12 euros each. Another thing we can do with out.
To apply I used their phone app and it was a bit of a rigmorole. Big brother is watching...

Last night I messed up my EMR trains reservation. I think I had a "senior moment" and somehow booked my trips the opposite way around. Knowing that my tickets were non refundable, I tried to sort it out online, but it seems you can't change destinations.
So in a panic I emailed EMR explaining the error. They came back within a couple of hours to confirm that the ticket was not refundable. But because it was a mistake they were going to refund me, so I could re-book.
So that was a relief. Losing £40 wouldn't have been a good start.

This morning I booked it again, this time double checking everything to make sure I didn't make the same mistake.

I suppose tiredness was involved.

As I'm coming back to France on a Sunday, I will have to walk home from the local train station. No buses on Sundays to our village. It's around 4km. Hope it won't be raining.
