My daughter sent me a very pretty top for Mother's Day, but I took it back to Asda as the size was too small. While walking round to see what there was in a size 12 I realised that a strappy top wasn't a good idea, given the likelihood of future sun-damage treatment. Ever since my shoulders ended up like leather while backpacking on Greek islands in my twenties, I've preferred short sleeves to straps. So I swapped it for two t-shirts. I'm sure she won't mind!
My son's coming to dinner tomorrow instead as it's his birthday today and they're playing tourist in Matlock.
A late lunch before a quick local walk, and I met my neighbour on the drive as I got back. He'd been to the pub up the road with model railway pals, something I'm sure he's only doing because his wife's away in Portugal babysitting!
