Fun Guys

The plans to walk in the Pentlands went out of the window today - almost literally because when we got up at 7am and looked out of the bedroom window there was a rainbow over Corstophine Hill indicating the proximity of rain. In fact, there have been a couple of showers in the meantime, but actually not really the forecast rain, at least not so far.

So instead we settled for a slightly extended circumnavigation of the Restalrig Path, amount to nearly 7.5 kms which was ok for distance, but missed the challenge of walking in the hills. And the views, of course. I made it more difficult for myself by wearing sandals two days in a row. They are fine for walking one day. But after a while the lack of support gets to the feet and I would have been more comfortable in shoes.

And if we'd gone to the hills we would have missed the short notice call from some friends to join them for brunch in the Ship on the Shore. And that would have been a shame, wouldn't it?

Reading and writing this afternoon, whilst following the cricket.
