Those little marmots
showed up for me this morning.
But so did the wind!

I was on my way to McArthur Island Park at 7. The sun was pouring into my house and it was calm and cool outside. 

I took a look at the slough for my first photo of the day. The water is low and doesn't look very appealing. I found some wood ducks there. The drake is so handsome. I have said I should paint one, but it hasn't happened yet. 

I moved to the south side of the park along the river's edge. I finally found marmots out and about. There can only be grass for them at this point. I managed some shots, but they are very skittish and will dive down the river bank at the slightest movement. 

The wind came up out of the west in gusts as I was on the Rivers Trail. It blew sand and dust up along the river. I caught a view of the dust cloud moving towards the downtown. 

I'm focused on office work today so it will keep me at home.
