Ride The Pennines Day 3!

After a super cosy evening, making the most of the electric blanket, I awoke to wild winds and driving rain. I was reassured by the fact my bike is heavier with my added gear so at least I wouldn't blow away. :-P 

Today I've cycled up Buttertubs Pass, climbed up Tan Hill and to the summit of Hartside Pass. The rain was quite literally horizontal at times and I had several I can't feel my face moments. I also had one fleeting glimpse of blue sky which was a cruel tease!! 

However, I loved the epicness of the day, 6168 feet later a roaring fire to worship and a hot shower were just the ticket. It's a wonder I ever emerged from the shower to be honest. Thank you Alston Youth Hostel.  I'm very impressed and there's a perk that my shared dorm for four has only me in it...and there's only 1 other male guest who is in a private room. Winning!
