Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

Wet, Wet, Wet!

Well this was just about the dreichest day of the year so far... and John and Amanda decided they wanted to stroll out in it with Archie... It wasn't too bad as they all set off bundled up in wet weather gear. But for most of the time, it was raining cats AND dogs! Though they claimed it wasn't too bad in the Hermitage, under the trees, they got properly sodden on the way home. There were no coffees offered - I sent them straight home to get out of their wet gear and get warmed up. Actually, Archie was dry except for his head and legs, but he had a warm bath anyway.

I had an exciting parcel on the doorstep this morning (ordered yesterday) - I'd ordered a charging stand thingie for phones and ear pods. I thought it must be handier than the cables - we've got different phone connections. I also ordered a new pair of ear pods. Cheap ones - NOT Apple ones, which fall out. These ones look ridiculous, and you can hardly feel them in place, so if one fell out, you wouldn't know. But a replacement one is a fraction of an Apple one.

I wore them round the house, shaking my head every now and again, trying to dislodge them. They seemed safe. Then I took Archie round the block (the rain had stopped by then) to try them outside. I was listening to a 'Conversations' podcast. I might be a bit nervous on a windy day, though.

JR took the car to the gym. And spent a long time over her re-stringing of beads. She has admitted defeat and will pop down to the bead shop for assistance tomorrow. Hope it's not raining.
