Chiswick House
After a quick visit to the dentist, to redo a filling for the third time a friend came over with her dog and together we went to collect the twins. We then went to Chiswick House to meet another two friends, one of whom works as a volunteer in the Kitchen Garden.
We had lunch sitting outside of the cafe and then had a tour of the Kitchen garden , see extra. It is a traditional huge walled garden well stocked with fruit and vegetables growing well already. They also have a large cut flowers section as they sell flowers to the public and also use them for weddings etc. this is what my friend does mostly.
After that we walked round the grounds and alongside the little river spotting lots of water birds, about 6 coots nesting, about 20 mallard chicks and various other water birds.
I’ve not been there for a long time and must revisit again. A decent car park but….could only pay by phone and we didn’t have the right app so it took ages to sort out.
The twins were so good, my friends who don’t have grandchildren and had not met them before were very impressed and said so…so Im very pleased. They are staying the night with me as their parents have gone out for dinner and then the theatre.
