Happy Birthday Chris

It's Chris's birthday today so we decided to go to London. We arrived mid-afternoon and, after dumping our bags at the Premier Inn close to St Pancras, we got the Underground to Canary Wharf, an area of London that we haven't yet visited. It was cold and cloudy and I think the weather always influences how you feel about a place.  Despite having lots of open areas, water features, statues and gardens, I was a bit disappointed with it and prefer the grandeur of the City of London. Maybe we'll return on a sunny day. 
We saw the filming of a new Apple TV sci-fi series and the actors looked even colder than us! 
On the way back to the hotel, we caught the Uber boat and ate a lovely steak and ale pie with chips at the Horniman at Hays.
