Amsterdam day 1

We were up early for our 6.16 Eurostar train to Amsterdam via Brussels. The journey was smooth and we arrived about 10 minutes late to a sunny Amsterdam. Our hotel, the Room Mate Aitana, was a short walk along the river front from the station and the room was ready so we were allowed to check-in early without charge. 
After unpacking, we walked into the centre of Amsterdam to explore. We'd been warned about the amount of bikes, but it was crazy - they are everywhere and you have to be so careful crossing the roads. The canals are lovely and we spent time walking around before getting on a boat where we learnt a bit more about the city.
After a bit more walking, we had tea and headed back to our hotel, exhausted after our 4 am start.
